The White Rose Shopping Centre’s new food court has been a big hit with shoppers this past week as it recorded an increased footfall of 4.9%.

The £7million redevelopment – known officially as ‘The Balcony’ – became a third larger in size as it welcomed new food outlets Frankie & Benny’s, Prezzo, Wok&Go, Primo’s Gourmet Hotdogs and handmade burger Co.

These now join a line-up of 17 existing eateries including Nando’s, McDonalds, Costa Coffee and Bagel Nash.

Since the launch on 10 May, Prezzo has reported sales increases of 50%, Nando’s has sold out of their signature chicken wings and Primo’s Gourmet Hotdogs have registered their best week of sales for the month.

James Bailey, centre director at the White Rose Shopping Centre, said: “The launch of our new £7million dining venue was a huge success.

“Shoppers came in their thousands to enjoy the party, free food and to take part in the competitions. Plus to top it off we’ve had some brilliant feedback and an increase on footfall based on last year.”

The redevelopment has brought a contemporary new-look to the food court. The customer facilities, toilets, baby change area and quiet room have also been re-vamped.
