Three food retailers – KFC, Burger King and new to Bradford Hey Potato – have signed to take space in the Broadway shopping centre’s food court.

The eateries will now be part of a new food court that joins leading UK retailers including anchors Debenhams and Marks & Spencer, along with Next, Topshop and Topman, River Island and Sainsbury Local.

With three out of the seven food courts now leased, the food court will help establish the Broadway shopping centre as an attractive shopping destination in West Yorkshire.

Bill Giouroukos, Westfield’s Director of Operations said: “The new food court operators add to the impressive portfolio of retailers that have signed up to the scheme and will help to cement Broadway Bradford’s position as a key strategic location for leading UK and international brands.

“We’re delighted at the progress we’ve made in 2014, with construction having commenced at the start of year and exciting retailers signing up to the scheme. The Broadway development has strong retailer demand, and well over 50% of the centre’s floor space is now committed.”

Bradford Breakthrough – a group of figures from private and public sector organisations across Bradford – will be holding an event named “A Taste of Bradford” on 27 March to help attract more restaurants to open within the city.

Sponsored by Westfield, the event will bring restaurant operators from all over the country who will learn about the opportunities that are available in Bradford’s city centre.
