21-year-old arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in Dewsbury

EXCLUSIVE: A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after crashing a BMW in Dewsbury.

The incident took place around 11pm on Savile Road when a white BMW crashed into the railings next to the ASDA superstore.

Local residents also reported hearing a loud bang from inside their homes.

No-one was reported injured.

Enquiries ongoing

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed: “Police were called to Savile Road Dewsbury at about 11.21pm on Sunday evening after a BMW car collided with railings.

“A 21- year-old man driving the car was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently in custody.

“No-one was injured in the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.”
