A new advert has been released showing emergency crews responding to a fatal car crash while singing Kool And The Gang’s 1980 hit ‘Celebration’.

The government-funded advert was released by the THINK! campaign to remind drivers that 50 years on, drinking and driving still ruins lives.

The video begins by showing a silver car upside down with a woman and man inside. Firefighters called to the scene crack open the window whilst singing along to ‘Celebration’.

Singing doctors try to resuscitate the man, who ends up losing his life. The police then notify his family who are devastating by the news.

Warning: Contains scenes some people might find upsetting.

In the last 50 years, road casualties caused by drink-driving have fallen dramatically, but in 2012, there were over 200 deaths due to drink-driving, according to the THINK! campaign.

Those caught drink-driving could face a fine of up to £5,000, a minimum 12-month driving ban and a criminal record.
