Local Marie Curie fundraisers from Bradford have been invited into Emmerdale’s local, The Woolpack, to launch the Great Daffodil Appeal.

One of Marie Curie’s biggest fundraisers, the upcoming appeal will help Marie Curie Nurses provide further free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes and at the Marie Curie Hospice located in Bradford.

Emmerdale actors Zoe Henry, Michelle Hardwick and Jeff Hordley, who play Rhona Goskirk, Vanessa Woodfield and Cain Dingle were present at The Woolpack to lend their support.

Mr Hordley, whose mother was personally cared for by Marie Curie Nurses, said: “We’re really pleased to get behind the Great Daffodil Appeal and support Marie Curie.

“We hope everyone will wear a daffodil and give a donation this March to help Marie Curie Nurses provide more of the fantastic care they give to people with terminal illnesses.”

Lucy Burnett, community fundraiser for Marie Curie said: “Every penny you can give is vital in helping Marie Curie Nurses provide more care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes, as well as emotional support for their families.”

The appeal will be launching throughout West Yorkshire on 1 March and daffodil pins can be picked up from Marie Curie volunteer collectors, local stores and Marie Curie Shops throughout the month.
