The owner of the conservatory, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she will now have to pay over £1,000 for a new roof.

She said: “There’s roughly 25 holes because of the hailstones and I’m not in a position to be able to claim. I’m gutted.

“There are three layers to my conservatory roof and it’s looking like the hail has gone through two layers. £1,500 for a new roof.”

I live in Wheatley, one mile out of Halifax and I also woke up to a golf ball size hole in my conservatory roof from last nights ice storm. Luckily I only had one!
