Bradford’s Horton Grange Primary School has seen the biggest turnout ever to its third Summer Fayre.

Held on 21 June and organised by parental involvement officer Naila Parvez and schoolteacher Niela Ahmed, hundreds got the chance to meet Mickey and Mini Mouse, play on the bouncy castle, browse a selection of stalls and workshops and even ride ponies.

Upcoming Rotherham-based artist Maz Khan, signed to production company Twilight Records UK, was invited as a special guest to sing a collection of songs, including his new single “Jaan Soniye”.

He told the Yorkshire Standard: “Performing at the Summer Fayre has been tremendous. I’ve been getting a great response, I loved the crowd and they were very engaging. Even Mickey Mouse joined in.

“I’ve got plans to perform in Bradford again aswell as around the country, and I’ll also be featuring in a compilation album coming out soon by Twilight Records UK.”

Horton Grange Primary School has over 500 pupils, and hosts its Summer Fayre every year.

Headteacher Carol Stephenson, said: “It’s been a fantastic event, and every year it gets bigger and better. This one was the best one yet.

“Parents, children and their families came down and it goes to show what a lovely community we have.”

Staff and pupils also volunteered to help clean up afterwards.
