Have you seen Murphy? Bradford couple appeal to get pup home

Get Murphy Home

A couple from Bradford are campaigning far and wide to have their beloved Siberian Husky dog returned home.

Murphy, who has been microchipped, slipped from his collar on 4 December in Scholemoor Cemetery.

Get Murphy HomeHe didn’t come back as usual and is believed to have been found and sold on within a couple of hours of going missing.

Murphy’s owner, Andy Smith, said: “The buyer contacted us via a lost and found site on that same night, arranging to meet us several times over the weekend but failing to turn up to the meets.

“Then our neighbours rang him and spoke to him and he said his children and other dog were all playing nicely with Murphy so we weren’t getting him back.”

Andy and his partner created a Facebook page named ‘Get Murphy home’ on the same day appealing for their dog’s return. By midnight, the page had 5,000 fans. Now it has over 26,000.

Appeals were even shared by Bradford-born magician Dynamo, X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary and comedian Johnny Vegas.

Andy said: “The response, support and messages have been overwhelming and humbling. We have had phone calls from all over the world offering their support, often reducing us to tears as people have been so kind and generous.”

There is a reward of £700 for Murphy’s return.

If you have seen Murphy or have any details about his whereabouts, please contact Andy on 07759851895.

I stay in Scotland and, like everyone else who supports Andy, have been sharing Murphy’s posts nearly every day since he went missing. I don’t know Andy but as a dog owner myself I feel his pain. All I want is for Murphy to be back home with his loving family where he belongs. Someone must know where he is. Please help reunite Murphy with his family.
