Heavy snow not expected in West Yorkshire just yet

Heavy Snow UK

Significant levels of snow will not fall in West Yorkshire anytime soon, the Met Office has confirmed.

Various news sources nationwide reported snow ‘battering’ Britain this weekend but Yorkshire will remain rather cold with chances of showers in some areas.

A spokesperson from the Met Office told the Yorkshire Standard: “Through Sunday, conditions will turn colder across the UK and there will be showers across northwestern areas.

“Although it will be quite cold, we expect very few showers, if any, across West Yorkshire.

“However, if showers do fall, above around 200 metres, they may fall as snow, although currently we do not expect significant accumulations.”
