EXCLUSIVE: A Labour campaign coordinator has caused a stir on Twitter after residents thought he was referring Bradford to as ‘Baghdad Central’.

The conversation started when an account named ‘Angry of Bradford’ asked a question to Labour candidate for Bradford West Amina Ali.

It read: “#Bradford’s had enough of empty rhetoric & being ignored; how will you be different @AminaAliLabour?”

Ian Parsons, a campaign coordinator for the Labour party in Bradford East, replied with: “She’d do more than the MP for Baghdad Central.”

Twitter users suggested he was directing the comment at Respect party MP George Galloway, who will be contesting Ms Ali in the elections.

Mr Parsons said it was just a “joke”, and later apologised for any offence he may have caused.

This is below disgusting! I have been to Baghdad on humanitarian relief mission in 1998. Do you know that 1million Iraqis have died as result of Tony B-Liar false flag invasion of Iraq. Parsons is not only a fool – he is a despicable low life scum who has no idea of what it is like to live in Iraq. I challenge him to spend five days in Baghdad and then he may be qualified to speak instead of being a spineless sycophant.
