Northerners asked which party has best policies on immigration, majority say none
A majority of northerners believe no party has the best policies on immigration, according to a recent YouGov poll for the Sunday Times.
According to regional breakdowns of statistics, 29% of people in the north chose not to pick any party over their policies on immigration, whilst 16% of them said they didn’t even know what to choose.
The majority of people also opted for saying ‘none of them’ in London and Scotland.
However, UKIP was the most chosen party by northerners with 27% saying they thought it had the best policies.
13% voted Labour, which beat the Conservatives which had 11%. Only 1% chose the Liberal Democrats, whilst 2% said the Greens.
The majority of northerners also voted to reduce immigration levels (80%) when they were asked whether they think the next government should try to reduce the level of immigration into Britain, increase the level of immigration, or keep immigration at its current level.
The YouGov poll was based on a sample of 1,745 adults and fieldwork was conducted between 5 and 6 March.
