During his “Real Time” show, Bill Maher started out complaining about the Bradford-born star’s departure from One Direction and then said: “Just tell me two things, Zayn. Which one in the band were you?”

The comedy then took a turn when Maher said: “And where were you during the Boston Marathon?”.

During this, Zayn’s photo is displayed next to the photo of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the Boston marathon bombers.

The ‘joke’ was deemed offensive by 1D fans, who started using hashtag #RespectForZayn to blast Maher.

Maher is a satirist. He would give Obama the same heat. Inappropriate as this is someone with Zayn’s intellect should not take it too seriously. It’s typical Maher. There are more important things in Zayn’s life than this jerk!
