Prime Minister David Cameron has attempted a Yorkshire accent paying tribute to Tory leader of the Commons William Hague, whom he described as the “greatest living Yorkshireman”.

In his conference speech, the Conservative Party leader put on the accent and said: “Some of you won’t be here in 30 years time.”

A member of the public sparked security fears after he ran into the PM as he left a meeting in Leeds last month.

The man was led away by Mr Cameron’s security team as the PM got into a waiting vehicle.
