Tears of joy as missing dog Murphy FOUND in Manchester

More than two months have passed since Bradford dog Murphy went missing, but he has finally been found in Manchester.

Murphy Missing Dog Found

Andy is emotional as he receives the news.

Murphy, who has been microchipped, slipped from his collar on 4 December in Scholemoor Cemetery.

He didn’t come back as usual and is believed to have been found and sold on within a couple of hours of going missing.

Get Murphy HomeHis owner Andy Smith burst into tears yesterday when he received the good news Murphy had been found.

He said: “I didn’t realise I was being recorded, but I was overcome with joy. We had a phone call last night and we needed to check the chip details.

“He was found in Manchester, but he’s healthy and has been looked after by the RSPCA. It sounded to me like there was a sting operation or a house-raid.”

“I have over 30,000 people to thank”

Andy and his partner created a Facebook page named ‘Get Murphy home’ on the same day Murphy went missing appealing for their dog’s return. By midnight, the page had 5,000 fans. Now it has over 40,000.

Appeals were even shared by Bradford-born magician Dynamo, X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary and comedian Johnny Vegas.

Andy said: “I have over 30,000 people to thank, and if I could do personally individually I would. So from me it’s a heartfelt thank you. The page is going to stay open and we will continue to try and help return stolen and lost dogs.”

So happy for Murphy and his owner makes you think about all the poor pups who don’t manage to come home x
