Locals took part in choreography sessions over the course of three weeks to dance for the event which coincided with International Women’s Day on 8 March.

The dance was done over a song named “Break The Chain” which is an anthem for the One Billion Rising campaign.

A serious message

In a dance video uploaded by Rogue Robot, organiser Lorraine Cameron said: “A year ago, I saw a group in Devon doing exactly what we’ve done here and I thought wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing if we did it in Hebden Bridge to celebrate International Women’s Day and to campaign around violence towards women and children.

“It’s really been about quite a serious message today, but it’s also been a heck of a lot of fun, we really enjoyed ourselves and I think all the audience has too.”
