Weather warning: Met Office warns of snow in West Yorkshire

Heavy Snow UK

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Yorkshire and the Humber tonight and tomorrow morning as temperatures plummet.

A yellow ‘be aware’ warning has been put in place for much of the north east of Scotland, as well as coastal areas in North East England and Yorkshire and the Humber.

According to the Met Office, outbreaks of sleet or snow are expected to extend north eastwards from parts of Wales across parts of the Midlands and northern England.

Accumulations of 2-5cm of snow are likely in places.

If it does fall, the snow is expected to gradually ease through tomorrow morning and some areas may miss the snow altogether.

The public has been advised to be aware of the risk of disruption to transport and drivers have been advised to keep safe on the roads.

West Yorkshire is listed as one of the authorities to be affected, including York, North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.
