Dedicated fans of One Direction’s Zayn Malik have helped raise over £6,000 for charity.

The 1D Fans Give group set up an online fundraiser in honour of the Bradford-born star’s 22nd birthday and to raise money for the British Asian Trust.

Zayn is an official Ambassador for the trust, an organisation that helps communities in South Asia and provides funding to support high impact charities within the areas of education, health and livelihoods.

Over 400 donations have been made on JustGiving and over £6,000 has been raised.

The 1D Fans Give group have raised over £35,000 since they began.

Over £4,000 has already been raised for Harry Style’s 21st birthday on 1 February.
