Rabbit Impaled Rochdale

A rabbit was impaled on railings and set on fire in Rochdale over the Easter weekend.

The white Lion-head pet was found by horrified members of the public on Bellfield Lane off Milnrow Road on 4 April.

Rabbit Impaled RochdaleRSPCA inspector Charlotte Booker said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for all involved. The rabbit was dead on my arrival, its fur was burnt and it was bleeding from the mouth.

“Someone has clearly gone to great lengths to do this.”

The rabbit was in good bodily condition but wasn’t microchipped so there is no way of tracing its owner.

Anyone with information, or anyone who thinks the rabbit may belong to them, can contact the RSPCA on the RSPCA’s inspector appeal line 0200 123 8018.
