New music festival to entertain all in Silsden

Summer Jam Festival

A brand new music festival is coming to Silsden this summer, bringing an array of big names to the area.

The upcoming family-friendly Summer Jam Festival will feature an eclectic mix of music to put Silsden back in the music scene.

Headlining the festival will be Bruce Foxton – the former bassist with punk legends The Jam – with his aptly-named band From the Jam, and bands already confirmed include the Big Bang and The Escapades.

The festival grew out of last year’s popular free Silsdenbury Fest which attracted over 1,000 people, and the previous year’s Diamond Do and the success of these events inspired organisers Andrew Conway and John Beaumont to put on something bigger and better.

Together, they have set up their own professional promotions company under the name of Dirtyboy Inc with the aim of bringing live music to the area.

Organiser Mr Conway said: “We are passionate about bringing live music to the Bradford district and want to give young musicians a leg-up as well – so we’re including an exciting mix of big names and established acts with up-and-coming local talent.

“It would be great if a lot of people plump for the camping option as they can then relax for the whole weekend and it will help create that lovely vibrant summery festival atmosphere.”

The Summer Jam Festival takes place from 22 August to 24 August on the Riverside Fields off Keighley Road in Silsden, over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The full line-up is yet to be announced.
