Brighouse’s very own baby show boosts local business
A special event named ‘Bump2Tot’ has been held at Brighouse High School for the benefit of parents and parents-to-be.
The event held on 8 June, was organised by planning service Life’s An Event that brought together independent businesses and services to the public.
Parents and parents-to-be got to purchase products for their youngsters, all the way from party accessories from Little Softies to clothes from brands such as i’groo baby and toddlerwear, Sa-Be babywear and Kinderfeet.
Visitors also got the chance to receive advice on breast-feeding and first aid delivered by KDA Training.
Mia Marsh, a mother and founder of Life’s An Event, told the Yorkshire Standard: “We had over 30 stalls, which helped boost their trade too. People from as far as Halifax came to see what independent retailers and businesses had to offer.”
Ms Marsh and her partner Paul also hosted a charity baby walk in Hebden Bridge last month to help parents and their children get together, socialise and have fun. Over 15 people took part including dogs.
Around £130 was donated to local mental health charity Healthy Minds Calderdale, which helps people with mental health conditions throughout the region.
Helen Wright, trustee for the charity, said: “The work Mia and Paul have done to fundraise has been fantastic. We appreciate the support anyone gives to help us support people with mental health problems.”
Life’s An Event hopes to launch events like ‘Bump2Tot’ on a nationwide scale in the future.
