Course in Kirklees to pave way for future bike leaders

Cycling Kirklees

British Cycling is on the hunt for cycling enthusiasts in Kirklees to get on their bikes and help others keep fit and healthy.

The national governing body for cycling is hosting its very own training course later this year, to give cyclists the chance to become the leader of their own rides.

By completing the free British Cycling Ride Leadership Award course, they will be able to deliver guided bike rides for groups of beginner and intermediate level adults and accompanied children on roads and cycle paths.

Participants don’t have to be cycling experts or competitive racers, but should be confident riding in a group and have a good level of fitness.

They will need to commit to leading guided rides on no less than four weekends during 2014 and rides will be delivered on set routes and times specified by British Cycling, with the majority of them taking place on Sundays during spring and summer.

The course will be held on 26 April.

If you’re interested in becoming a British Cycling Ride Leader in Kirklees, please contact Lynnette Evans by emailing [email protected].
