Bradford Esprit divers haul in 36 medals in Dublin

Young divers have come back to Bradford with a massive medal haul after competing in the Irish Open Diving Championships in Dublin.

23 young divers from the Bradford Esprit diving club took part in the Championships over the weekend and brought home a total of 36 medals.

Domi Hinchliffe earned three Golds whilst Gina Webb earned one Gold and a Silver. Both went on to secure a further three medals. Sophie Mawson gained Bronze in all her events, whilst Max Roper earned a Silver and a Bronze.

Jake Passmore earned two Golds, George Parsonage secured Gold and a Bronze, Jacob Midgley gained three Silvers, and Elizabeth secured two Silvers and a Bronze. Evie Webb gained a Gold and Silver competing in the Women’s Open.

Golds went to Koben O’Driscoll, Abbie Hindle, Joseph Nicol and Harry Spencer. Silvers went to Hannah Hall, Imogen Tomlinson, and Owen Passmore, whilst Bronzes went to Rosa Scally, Tom Blenkinsop, and Laurence Plowman.

Spokesperson for Bradford Esprit, Helen Dutton, said: “The divers are very motivated following the success of the recent Ireland competition. For divers old or young 36 medals is a tremendous result.

“The divers have come back to realise the importance of every training session. For the club as a whole, it is especially satisfying knowing that so many of our medallists have come through the clubs schools talent identification programme which will be beginning again soon at schools across the district.”

The divers are now working with their coaches at Shipley Pool to prepare themselves for their next events.
