Open day success for MA Institute’s new Inspire Academy
A primary school in Bradford has launched sessions to help youngsters learn Arabic as well as gaining additional support to their education.
MA Boys Institute, located on Florence Street in Bradford, will now be holding classes for 5 to 11-year-olds throughout the week to help youngsters learn key skills in Arabic, including basic pronunciation rules of the Quran.
Attendees will be taught by qualified teachers, who will also provide educational support in English, maths, science and homework as well as health and well-being through sports and recreational activities.
Tariq Khan, the founder of the Inspire Academy, said: “We had a consultation with members of the community including parents and there was a demand for children to be able to learn Arabic and gain additional support outside school. So this led us to create the Inspire Academy.”
Arshad Khan, headteacher of the school, added: “The Open Day on 20 September was a great success. Kids were excited, over 25 people signed up and we had a great turnout. We really hope to make a difference in the community.”
MA Boys Institute was established in 2003, whilst its partner school, the MA Girls Institute, established in 2008.
The school relocated to Florence Street due to high demand in student numbers. A million pound refurbishment project was also completed in September 2011.
Inspire Academy sessions will be held at the MA Boys Institute from Monday to Friday from 3.30pm to 7.30pm and from 11am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
