Over 50,000 people have signed the petition, which calls Kanye “an insult to music fans all over the world”.
According to press, Neil Lonsdale started off the petition as a joke before it grew to gaining thousands of signatories.
Various messages have been left in support of the petition from people as far as India and United States, including residents in West Yorkshire.
Luke Boland from Halifax said: “Kanye West is everything that is wrong with arrogant musicians atm. Why would ANYONE reward his childish rants and blatant disrespect for other artists? Glasto…..you disappoint me…..badly……”
Susan Lee from Halifax wrote: “Whoever booked Mr West needs sacking. He’s no headliner! Not even an entertainer!”
Adam Mead from Huddersfield said: “Kanye West is a t** and his music is shi*e…My money should be given to people with more talent.”
Stu Hansom from Leeds added: “Any number of artists or bands would have been a better choice than Kanye West. I’d even prefer to watch Adam West performing on the Saturday night, even if he just sung his own name over and over. Kanye is a terrible fit for Glastonbury and a poor man’s Adam West.”
